Polished solid 14k yellow gold Star of David pendant is engraved with the word Tzion in Hebrew. Dimensions: 21x19mm. Weighs 2.12 grams. The symbol is a Hebrew word, Tzion = Zion. It is the Hebrew expression for their homeland. Mount Zion, the Holy Mountain, symbolized by Jerusalem. The people who agitated in the 1940’s for the establishment of a Jewish state in the modern era – they were called Zionists. That’s where that name comes from. They wanted their homeland back after being exiled from it forever since the Romans destroyed Jerusalem in 70 A.D. After World War II, they were granted, of course, a Jewish state, the State of Israel.
